Nicki Minaj, Jesse McCartney to help teens 'Wake Up'

In an effort to cajole teens out of bed in the morning and on their way to school, the Get Schooled Foundation has enlisted popular artists to give them a wake up call.

Nicki Minaj, Jesse McCartney, Ciara, Trey Songz and Wiz Khalifa are some of the stars who have joined up with the Foundation. The Wake Up and Get Schooled campaign launched on Friday, and is hoping this star-filled tactic will help to reduce absences.

“One of the key factors in students graduating and succeeding in their educational goals is merely getting them to campus in the first place,” Marie Groark, Executive Director of the Get Schooled Foundation, said in a statement. “By using the power of celebrity and persuasion, we are encouraging students to wake up and get schooled!"

The celebs have recorded messages encouraging kids to go to school, and students can sign up at Getschooled.com to get these free wake-up phone calls. The messages will available beginning the first week of October, and will run until June 2012.
